Five people were injured in a road accident near Katouna in the Malaypur police station area of Jamui late Saturday night. The incident occurred when a Magic vehicle, returning to Begusarai after a tonsure ceremony in Deoghar, overturned while attempting to avoid an oncoming Hiwa truck. The injured were immediately admitted to Jamui Sadar Hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable.

According to the police, the Magic driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to evade the Hiwa, causing it to flip onto the roadside. The accident created a chaotic situation at the spot for some time. Approximately 25 people, including children, women, and men, were traveling in the Magic vehicle at the time of the accident. Five sustained serious injuries, while other passengers suffered minor scratches and were safe. Local residents promptly initiated rescue efforts, extracting the injured from the vehicle and transporting them to Jamui Sadar Hospital.

The injured have been identified as Ramesh Chaurasia, his wife Soni Devi, daughter Anjali Kumari, Anita Devi, and Jeeva Chaurasia, all residents of Banwaripur in Begusarai district. They are all members of the same family who had gone to Deoghar for a child's tonsure ceremony and were returning home. Doctors at the hospital stated that all injured are undergoing treatment and are out of danger. Malaypur police have removed the wrecked vehicle from the road and are investigating the matter.
