In a significant joint operation, the Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau, Patna, along with Mahnar police, seized a large quantity of smack, cash, and weapons from Lavapur Narayan village in the Mahnar police station area of Vaishali district. During the raid, authorities recovered 492.99 grams of smack (Kota variety), ₹6,51,178 in cash, a country-made pistol, gold and silver-like metals, and two motorcycles. Police officials stated that this is the largest smack seizure to date in the Mahnar police station jurisdiction.

SDPO Praveen Kumar informed the media that the Bureau received a tip-off about Manjay Rai and Dhananjay Rai, residents of Lavapur Narayan village, being involved in a large-scale smack trade from their homes. Following verification, a joint raid was conducted under the guidance of senior officials. The search yielded 492.99 grams of smack, found in plastic containers and polythene bags. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth between ₹15 to ₹20 lakh in the international market.

Other items recovered include a country-made pistol, a Royal Enfield motorcycle, a Hero Splendor motorcycle, 870 grams of silver-like metal, 18 grams of gold-like yellow metal, a Timex watch, and four Bajaj fans. An FIR is being registered under various sections, including the BNS and NDPS Acts. Raids are ongoing to apprehend the absconding accused. SDPO Kumar also stated that the assets and income sources of Manjay Rai and Dhananjay Rai would be investigated to uncover the entire network involved in drug trafficking.

SDPO Praveen Kumar reiterated that the campaign against illegal drug and liquor trade would continue, with strict legal action against offenders. The raiding team included Mahnar Station House Officer Vedanand Singh, SI Ram Vinay Kumar, police officer Anil Pandey, and other personnel. Local residents praised the police action as a major success and demanded continuous campaigns against drug traffickers, expressing concern over the rising drug addiction among youth.
