A man identified as Ravishankar alias Guru has been arrested in Patna's Maranchi police station area on charges of allegedly raping his minor sister-in-law. The incident is reported to have occurred approximately a month ago, with police taking action recently.

Maranchi Station House Officer (SHO) Roshan Kumar stated that an FIR, Case No. 102/26, was registered at Maranchi Police Station on September 24, 2026, based on the victim's complaint. The case has been filed under sections 64(1), 351(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 4, 6 of the POCSO Act.

Following the registration of the case, police, acting on confidential information and investigation, arrested the accused Ravishankar alias Guru on Friday from his residence in Maranchi Bhagat Tola. The SHO informed that after interrogation, the accused is being prepared for judicial custody. Concurrently, the process of conducting the victim's medical examination and recording her legal statement is underway to facilitate further action in the case.
