A shocking incident has come to light in Samastipur district, where an elderly man was brutally beaten to death by his eldest son over a land dispute. The tragic event occurred in Rampura village, under the Dalsinghsarai police station area. The victim, 65-year-old Rajendra Rai, was severely assaulted by his son, Dharmendra Rai.

According to reports, Dharmendra had allegedly sold a piece of family land located in the city without informing his father. When Rajendra Rai discovered this, he confronted his son, questioning him about the sale. This confrontation quickly escalated into a violent altercation. Dharmendra reportedly attacked his father with sticks and other objects, inflicting fatal injuries. Rajendra Rai was rushed to Samastipur Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Following the incident, the accused son fled the scene. Manoj Rai, the younger son of the deceased, informed the police that his elder brother, Dharmendra, had a history of disputes with their father over land matters and frequently resorted to violence. Manoj stated that their father had purchased land in the city, which Dharmendra sold without his knowledge. When confronted, Dharmendra severely beat his father and left him on the road.

Dalsinghsarai police station officials arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are conducting raids to apprehend the absconding accused, Dharmendra Rai. The incident has cast a pall of grief and anger over Rampura village, with villagers demanding swift justice.
