Maniya Village Residents Troubled by Stagnant Water: Dirty Water Flowing on Road for 6 Months
Residents of Maniya village, Ward No. 8, Rampur Panchayat, Sangrampur block in Munger district, have been facing severe difficulties due to stagnant dirty water flowing on the village roads for the past six months. This has made commuting extremely problematic for the villagers.
Villagers expressed their frustration, stating that despite claims under the Swachh Bharat Mission, no sanitation work has been carried out in their village. They highlighted that even before Chhath Puja, the roads were not cleaned, forcing devotees to wade through the dirty water to reach the ghats. Villagers like Umakant Jha, Nitesh Jha, Vijay Shah, Diwakar Shah, and Pappu shared their plight.
The issue was brought to the attention of Ward Member Mamata Devi, who reportedly stated that she had not received any work assignments from the government. She suggested that villagers would have to pool money themselves to get the cleaning done, expressing a lack of hope from the government. The villagers are now demanding immediate action from the administration to resolve the sanitation crisis and ensure proper cleaning in the village.
