In a significant operation aimed at enforcing complete prohibition in Bihar, Maranchi Police Station has seized and destroyed a large quantity of raw materials used for illicit liquor production. The raid was conducted in the riparian areas along the Ganga River.

Maranchi Station House Officer (SHO) Roshan Kumar stated that based on a tip-off, a police team launched a special operation in the Kasaha Diyara area, located along the Ganga riverbank. Liquor mafias were exploiting the remote and inaccessible terrain of the Diyara to illegally manufacture country liquor.

According to the SHO, during the raid, police extensively searched various locations in the Diyara region. They discovered several drums and vessels hidden in bushes and mud pits. These containers held approximately 2000 liters of 'Chhoba' (raw mahua wash), which was being fermented to produce country liquor.

The police team promptly destroyed all 2000 liters of the seized mahua wash on the spot by pouring it out and burning it. Additionally, several illegal stills, utensils, and other equipment used in liquor manufacturing were also dismantled. However, upon seeing the police, the liquor traders managed to escape, taking advantage of the vast geographical spread and water routes of the Diyara.

SHO Roshan Kumar assured that efforts are underway to identify the absconding individuals, and they will soon be arrested and face legal action. He warned that those involved in the illegal manufacturing or sale of liquor in the area would not be spared, and such raid operations would continue regularly.
