In Marhaura, Saran district, thieves targeted two shops in the Gaura police station area, near Salimapur Tower Mor, in a single night. The incident came to light on Thursday morning when shopkeepers discovered their shop locks broken and doors open. Upon receiving information about the theft, Gaura police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.

According to reports, thieves broke into Maa Jewelers and Utensils Shop and Balaji General Store near Salimapur Tower Mor last night. Manoj Kumar Soni, owner of Maa Jewelers, stated that approximately three thousand rupees in cash, along with utensils and other items, were stolen from his shop. Dev Kumar Singh, proprietor of Balaji General Store, reported that thieves made off with thousands of rupees in cash, as well as slippers and cosmetic items. A full assessment of the stolen goods is pending the police investigation.

The incident has heightened concerns about security among local shopkeepers and businessmen. Villagers mentioned that Salimapur village has experienced similar thefts in shops and temples previously. Locals expressed their apprehension over such recurring incidents and demanded that the culprits be identified and brought to justice.

Upon receiving the theft report, Gaura Station House Officer Mohammed Mahtab Khan, along with police personnel, reached the crime scene. The police team inspected both shops and gathered details of the stolen items from the owners. The SHO stated that a thorough investigation is underway, and necessary actions are being taken to identify the criminals. Police are also collecting information from the surrounding areas. Shopkeepers have urged the police to increase night patrolling and to solve previous theft cases.
