Barh Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Garima Lohia conducted a surprise inspection of the Ramsharan Smarak Railway Aided High School cum Saraswati Vidya Niketan (Model School) and Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel (Type-4) in Mokama. Block Education Officer Anjani Kumar Singh accompanied her during the inspection.

During the visit, the SDM thoroughly checked classrooms, toilets, drinking water facilities, and teachers' attendance registers. Several deficiencies were found in cleanliness, potable water, and basic educational facilities within the school premises. Consequently, the SDM issued a show-cause notice to the school's principal, Dharmendra Kumar, regarding these irregularities.

Following this, the SDM also visited the Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel. Students there alleged that they were forced to cook meals on a rotational basis, and faced physical abuse and misbehavior if they complained. The quality of food and cleanliness were also found to be unsatisfactory.

Responding to these serious allegations, the SDM took immediate action. The private cook, Kumari Rinki, was dismissed with immediate effect for allegedly forcing students to work and misbehaving with them. A show-cause notice was also issued to the hostel warden, Kumari Hina Singh. Furthermore, a written explanation has been sought from the guard, Anil Singh, who is supposed to be present at the school during the day.

Children from underprivileged families reside in these hostels hoping for a better future and security. The administration aims to ensure a fear-free environment and transparent system in such institutions. The SDM's action is seen as a significant step towards improving the prevailing conditions.
