A heart-wrenching incident has been reported from Palasi block in Araria district, where a mother drowned while attempting to save her son from deep water. This tragic accident occurred in a water body within the Palasi police station area. According to available information, a woman named Nutan Devi's son was playing and accidentally went into deep water, beginning to drown. Seeing her son in danger, Nutan Devi, without hesitation, jumped into the water to rescue him.

Nutun Devi managed to pull her son out of the water and save his life, but in the process, she herself got trapped in the deep water. She struggled to get out but unfortunately did not succeed and drowned. Upon receiving information about the incident, local residents and the police reached the spot. The woman's body was recovered from the water. The entire area is engulfed in sorrow due to this incident.

This event once again highlights the need for awareness regarding child safety near water bodies in rural areas and the dangers associated with deep water. Family members and villagers state that Nutan Devi made the ultimate sacrifice, disregarding her own life to save her son. The police have sent the body for post-mortem and are taking further action in the case.
