Motihari police have achieved a significant breakthrough with the arrest of Pappu Khan, a notorious criminal carrying a reward of ₹20,000 and wanted in 23 criminal cases. He was apprehended in Patna with the assistance of the Special Task Force (STF).

Superintendent of Police, East Champaran, Kantesh Kumar Mishra, confirmed the arrest. Pappu Khan was facing charges related to extortion, attempted murder, Arms Act violations, and various other serious offenses. Out of the 23 cases, 12 were registered at Motihari's Muffassil police station, 4 at Turkaulia police station, 2 at Chhatauni police station, 2 at Govindganj police station, and 3 at Kesaria police station.

The police had been actively pursuing Khan for a considerable period. A special team was formed to track him, conducting raids at his suspected hideouts. Acting on intelligence, the STF successfully located and arrested him in Patna. Following his arrest, he was brought to Motihari for intensive interrogation. This arrest is expected to significantly curb criminal activities in Motihari and its surrounding areas, as Khan had been a persistent challenge for law enforcement for many years. Police are also working to gather information about his network and other gang members.
