Munger: In a significant development in the kidnapping case of three-year-old Abhiraj from Lal Darwaza, under the Kotwali police station area, police have made another crucial arrest. On Saturday, Sangeeta Devi, a resident of Naulakha, who played the role of a middleman in the kidnapping plot, was arrested and sent to jail. With her arrest, the total number of accused apprehended in the case has reached eight. Police are now actively raiding various locations to arrest two absconding accused, Gido Yadav and Pawan Kumar, who are part of this network.

According to the police, clues gathered during the search for the child revealed a kidnapping network extending from Munger to Begusarai and further to Punjab. Investigations indicated that Harjinder Kumar, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab, wanted a child for his wife. During this, he came into contact with Neelam Devi, a resident of Begusarai. Police claim that Neelam Devi involved Pawan Kumar, who lives in Punjab, and Gido Yadav, a resident of Singhia, in this scheme.

Previously, the police had already arrested and jailed Harjinder Kumar, Ramanjeet Kaur, Nirmala (all from Jalandhar), driver Rajkumar, Neelam Devi (Begusarai), and Neeraj Yadav (Munger). Sangeeta Devi's arrest is expected to further advance the police investigation. It was revealed during the inquiry that Gido Yadav and Sangeeta Devi contacted Neeraj Yadav, a resident of Lal Darwaza. Police stated that Neeraj was lured with one lakh rupees for the child's abduction. Subsequently, a deal was struck with Neelam Devi for three lakh rupees to transport the child to Punjab. Kotwali Station House Officer Rajiv Kumar Tiwari stated that further action would be taken after interrogating Sangeeta.
