A grocery shop owner in Munger district was brutally assaulted by criminals for refusing to sell smack, leaving him severely injured. Following the incident, he has been referred to Patna for better medical treatment. The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the Bindwara area, under the Kasim Bazar police station jurisdiction in Munger.

According to reports, Rahul Kumar, a grocery shop owner residing in Bindwara, was at his shop when some criminals arrived late at night and demanded that he sell them smack. Rahul Kumar flatly refused to engage in the illegal sale. Enraged by his refusal, the criminals attacked him, using the butt of a pistol to strike him on his head and other parts of his body. Rahul sustained severe injuries and fell to the ground, bleeding profusely.

Following the assault, locals gathered at the scene and immediately rushed the injured Rahul to Sadar Hospital, Munger. After receiving initial treatment, doctors, recognizing the seriousness of his condition, referred him to Patna for advanced medical care. It is reported that Rahul has suffered severe head injuries.

The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the locality. Local residents have urged the police administration to take strict action in this matter. The Kasim Bazar police station has initiated an investigation into the case, and a search is underway for the attackers. Police state that the culprits will be arrested soon, and stringent legal action will be taken against them. This incident once again highlights the challenge of curbing illegal drug trafficking and related crimes.
