Munger experienced chaos on Tuesday afternoon as sudden weather changes brought strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning. Several trees and plants were damaged across the city. A major disaster was narrowly averted at the district headquarters' Polo Ground, where a large marquee erected on a stage collapsed due to high winds. Over a dozen football players near the marquee managed to flee to safety.

In the same ground, an elaborate rangoli was being prepared for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday celebration. The sudden downpour washed away the intricate design. More than a dozen girls who were making the rangoli sought shelter under a tree within the ground premises to escape the rain. During this time, a thick branch of the tree broke off and fell. The falling branch caused a stampede among the girls, who all ran to safety.

Preeti Kumari, one of the girls making the rangoli, stated that the weather was normal on Tuesday morning, but by afternoon, dark clouds gathered, and heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning began. Ashish Kumar Sharma, also involved in the rangoli creation, mentioned that the weather deteriorated so rapidly that it felt dark even during the day. The falling tree branch near where the children were standing caused a momentary panic.

The storm also impacted major city roads. A large tree branch fell on the Ambedkar Chowk to Lal Darwaza road, obstructing traffic for some time. A hearse was among the vehicles stuck, waiting for a JCB to clear the fallen branch before proceeding towards the Lal Darwaza cremation ground. Munger narrowly escaped major accidents in several areas, including the Polo Ground, amidst the sudden storm, rain, and lightning.
