A newlywed woman, Sarita Kumari (22), was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Mahmudpur village, under the Muraul OP of Sakra police station area in Muzaffarpur district. Her body was discovered near an almirah in her room. Upon receiving the information, the police promptly arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, and sent it to the medical college for post-mortem examination.

Sarita had been married for approximately six months. Her family members from her maternal side have accused her husband, Neeraj Kumar, and other in-laws of murder. Ashok Sahni, from the maternal side, stated that they learned about the incident from villagers. He alleged that Sarita's husband had an illicit affair with his sister-in-law, which Sarita had discovered. The maternal family claims that Sarita was strangled to death to prevent the alleged affair from being exposed.

Muraul OP in-charge, Lakhendra Kumar Mahto, confirmed that the body of a newlywed woman was found under suspicious conditions. He added that the maternal family has leveled murder allegations. The police have sent the body for post-mortem, and the exact cause of death will only be clear after the report is received. The police are currently investigating the matter and further legal action is underway.
