A shocking incident has been reported from Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, where an uncle and nephew were ambushed and fired upon by criminals after testifying in court. The uncle died on the spot, while the nephew sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred late Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Rajendra Rai, a resident of Gijas village under Saraiya police station. His injured nephew is 30-year-old Chandan Rai. According to reports, Rajendra Rai had testified in court regarding a kidnapping case linked to a dispute over his 4 bigha land.

While returning after testifying, bike-borne assailants intercepted them near a culvert on the Bakhra-Gijjas Road within the Saraiya police station area and opened fire. Rajendra Rai suffered bullet wounds to his head and stomach, leading to his instantaneous death. Chandan Rai also sustained bullet injuries and has been admitted to a hospital in critical condition. Local police arrived at the scene, took the body into custody for post-mortem, and initiated an investigation. Police suspect the incident is a direct consequence of the ongoing land dispute. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits, as the incident has caused significant fear in the area.
