A migrant worker was shot dead in Nalanda district over a minor parking dispute. The incident occurred in Porai village, under Harnaut police station jurisdiction. The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Sunil Kumar, son of Jagdish Mahto. Sunil had returned to his village just three days prior from another state to celebrate the Durga Puja festival.

The incident took place late Tuesday night. According to Sunil's brother, David Kumar, the lane leading to their house was narrow and two e-rickshaws were already parked there. Sunil asked them to move the vehicles, which led to a heated argument that escalated into a violent confrontation. One party opened fire, and a bullet struck Sunil in the head. He was rushed to Harnaut Referral Hospital and then, due to his critical condition, transferred to Bihar Sharif Model Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon examination.

Upon receiving the information, Harnaut police arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The accused has been absconding since the incident, and police are conducting continuous raids to apprehend him. Bihar Sharif Sadar DSP-2 Rakesh Kumar Ranjan stated that the murder stemmed from a dispute with a neighbor over bike parking. The body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused swiftly. Legal action will be taken based on the written complaint filed by the victim's family.
