भागलपुर | नवगछिया पुलिस जिला क्षेत्र में एक नए नदी थाना भवन के निर्माण का रास्ता साफ हो गया है। इस थाने का सृजन नवगछिया पुलिस जिले के 11 थाना क्षेत्रों को काटकर किया जा रहा है, जिसमें कुल 40 मौजा के क्षेत्र शामिल होंगे। नवगछिया के दियारा इलाके में बढ़ते आपराधिक वारदातों पर लगाम लगाने के उद्देश्य से राज्य सरकार ने वर्ष 2010 में नदी थाना के निर्माण की घोषणा की थी। गृह विभाग द्वारा 22 जनवरी 2010 को इसकी मंजूरी दी गई थी।
नवगछिया का एक बड़ा हिस्सा गंगा और कोसी नदियों के दियारा क्षेत्र में आता है। इन इलाकों में आपराधिक गतिविधियों, जैसे कि लूटपाट, डकैती और अवैध बालू खनन, की शिकायतें लगातार सामने आती रहती हैं। इसी समस्या के समाधान के लिए विभिन्न थानों और ओपी (आउटपोस्ट) के क्षेत्रों को पुनर्गठित कर नवगछिया नदी थाना बनाया गया है। नया भवन बनने से इस क्षेत्र में पुलिस की उपस्थिति और प्रभावी होगी, जिससे दियारा क्षेत्रों में अपराध नियंत्रण में महत्वपूर्ण मदद मिलने की उम्मीद है। यह कदम स्थानीय लोगों को सुरक्षा प्रदान करने और कानून-व्यवस्था बनाए रखने में सहायक होगा।

The state government had announced the creation of a river police station in 2010 to curb the rising crime rate in the diara (riverine) areas of Naugachia. Approval from the Home Department was granted on January 22, 2010. A significant portion of Naugachia falls within the diara regions of the Ganga and Kosi rivers. These areas have consistently reported criminal incidents such as robbery, dacoity, and illegal sand mining. To address this, the Naugachia River Police Station was formed by reorganizing the jurisdictions of various police stations and outposts. The construction of a new building is expected to enhance police presence and effectiveness in these regions, significantly aiding in crime control within the diara areas. This initiative aims to provide security to local residents and maintain law and order.
