The demand for an underpass bridge on the Neelghadi-Lakhpura link road in Laudhiya Khurd Panchayat, Barahat block, Banka district, has resurfaced. Former Lok Sabha candidate Shriram Manjhi has submitted an application to the District Magistrate, requesting the construction of an underpass bridge on this vital road, along with the NH 333A bypass project. He emphasized that this route is a lifeline for thousands of residents from two villages, including schoolchildren, students, women, the elderly, and livestock, who use it daily. The absence of a bridge disrupts movement and poses a risk of accidents. Manjhi has urged the administration to inspect the site and initiate the construction of the bridge alongside the road. He has also filed an RTI application seeking information on previous actions, bridge proposals, inspection reports, and approval documents, as well as reasons for the delay in the proposal.

Meanwhile, the impact of news reports highlighting the dilapidated condition of the Bhaljor Bridge near the Bihar-Jharkhand border on NH-133E (Bhagalpur-Hansdiha) and delays in diversion construction is now visible. The administration has deployed police forces on both sides of the bridge to restrict heavy vehicle movement. Efforts are also being made to expedite the diversion construction. Heavy vehicles are being rerouted through alternative paths, which is expected to reduce pressure on the bridge and facilitate construction work. The Bhaljor Bridge is approximately three decades old, with cracks visible in two of its cement pillars and damaged railings in several places. Locals state that parts of the railing have been broken for over a year and a half.
