In response to the Bihar Bandh called by various student organizations protesting the lathi-charge during demonstrations in Delhi and Patna over the NEET exam paper leak, security has been significantly tightened in Vaishali district. Magistrates and a large contingent of police forces have been deployed at various sensitive locations, including Hajipur city.

From Saturday morning, Sadar SDO Ram Babu Baitha and Sadar SDPO-1 Subodh Kumar, along with station house officers from various police stations, inspected different areas of the city. Special vigilance is being maintained at key locations such as Gandhi Chowk, Ramashish Chowk, Paswan Chowk, and Mahatma Gandhi Setu (Jadhua). SDPO Subodh Kumar stated that the Bihar Bandh was also announced via social media, leading to precautionary deployments of police personnel across the city and at important sites including the Mahatma Gandhi Setu.

Currently, there have been no reports of any organization enforcing the bandh forcibly. The district administration and police have appealed to all students and citizens to cooperate in maintaining peace, harmony, and law and order. The administration urged people to express their views democratically and peacefully, staying away from violence and rumors. The primary objective of the administration is to ensure public safety, normal daily life, and the uninterrupted operation of essential services. Citizens have been asked to show restraint and responsibility in cooperating with the authorities.

The administration has also requested protestors not to obstruct emergency services like ambulances and fire engines, ensure the protection of public and private property, maintain cleanliness, and promptly report any suspicious activities. Furthermore, people are advised to verify the authenticity of any news or messages before sharing them.
