On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, more than 500 poor families in Paliganj sub-division of Patna district received legal land deeds under 'Abhiyan Basera 2'. These families had been residing illegally for many years in the Bikram, Paliganj, and Dulhinbazar blocks within the sub-division. The 'Abhiyan Basera 2' campaign, run by the Bihar Government's Revenue and Land Reforms Department, aims to provide land for housing to landless families.

Each family has been allotted approximately 5 decimal of land, enabling them to legally construct homes on their allocated plots. This initiative will free these families from the necessity of living illegally from place to place. Paliganj Sub-Divisional Officer Chandan Kumar, Sub-Divisional Tehsildar, and the Circle Officers of all three blocks were present at the event.

Sub-Divisional Officer Chandan Kumar stated that 'Abhiyan Basera-2' is being implemented across the state. Its primary objective is to provide eligible landless (those deprived of residential land) families with up to 5 decimal of free land for home construction and its legal deed (Basgeet Certificate). This scheme is a significant initiative by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, offering poor and landless families the opportunity to live with dignity.
