Even after light rainfall, the market premises become submerged in knee-deep water, making it challenging for vendors to set up their stalls and for customers to shop. This issue has persisted for several years without a lasting solution.

Vegetable sellers report that waterlogging damages their produce and deters customers, directly impacting their income. They highlight the lack of proper drainage as the root cause, leading to stagnant water and an increase in mosquito breeding, posing health risks.

Local residents and vendors have repeatedly appealed to the administration for a resolution. Recently, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) visited the market to assess the situation. The SDM listened to the vendors' grievances and assured them that appropriate action would be taken soon. Plans are reportedly underway to improve the drainage system and maintain cleanliness within the market premises.

While vendors and residents are somewhat relieved by the SDM's assurance, they hope for a swift implementation of the promised measures. They believe that without a permanent solution, they will continue to face similar challenges every monsoon season. Resolving this issue is crucial not only for the vendors but also for the general public of Paliganj, as the market serves as a vital commercial hub in the region.
