The Station House Officer (SHO) of Pathahi, Baban Kumar, has been suspended following allegations of negligence in the double murder case that occurred in Jiuli village, under the Pathahi police station area in East Champaran district. Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat initiated this action, and departmental proceedings have also been launched against him. Following his suspension, Baban Kumar has been sent to the police line.

The double murder incident in Jiuli village involved a knife attack during a dispute between two groups, resulting in the death of two individuals, including a woman. The handling of the case by the police and alleged negligence in the investigation had raised significant questions. Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, SP Swarn Prabhat took prompt action, leading to the suspension of the Pathahi SHO.

Abhishek Kumar has been appointed as the new SHO of Pathahi. The new SHO faces the immediate challenge of arresting the accused in the Jiuli double murder case, ensuring an impartial investigation, and maintaining law and order within the police station's jurisdiction. This action by the police administration underscores a clear stance that the department will not tolerate any form of negligence by police officers in their roles or during investigations of serious criminal cases.
