Villagers in Pathrahi village, under Nautan block in Bettiah district, are facing severe hardship due to the dilapidated condition of their main school road and persistent waterlogging. The road leading to the primary school is riddled with large potholes that turn into a pond after even slight rainfall, making it extremely difficult for residents, especially schoolchildren, to commute.

Residents report that children frequently fall and injure themselves while trying to navigate the treacherous path. The continuous waterlogging also poses a significant health risk, increasing the threat of infectious diseases. Despite repeated appeals to local administration and elected representatives, no concrete action has been taken to address the issue, leading to growing frustration among the villagers.

Expressing their deep resentment over the administration's apathy, the villagers have warned that they will resort to an indefinite hunger strike if the road is not repaired and proper drainage systems are not implemented soon. They have stated that their protest will continue until their demands are met, holding the administration responsible for any health issues that may arise among the protesters.

The local मुखिया (village head) has stated that an application regarding the issue has been submitted to the Block Development Officer, and assurances of a speedy resolution have been received. However, the villagers remain unconvinced by these promises and are demanding immediate action, asserting that they will not trust false assurances and will continue their struggle until the road is constructed.
