Continuous rise in the Ganga River's water level has led to floodwaters spreading into diara (riverine) and low-lying areas, causing significant difficulties for residents in Patna and surrounding regions. Homes in Bind Toli behind Kurji and from Bhadraghat to the Collectorate have been inundated. Water has reached the roadside near LCT Ghat, and low-lying parts of Bakhtiyarpur are also submerged. In Maner, Hathidah, and Sultanaganj (Bhagalpur), the Ganga is flowing above the danger mark.

Diara residents are forced to seek refuge along Patna's Ganga Path with their livestock. Their crops have been destroyed, and they await the receding waters. Gauri Shankar Mahto, a diara resident, stated that everything is submerged, and they are living by the Marine Drive with their animals. Local residents like Joginder Rai have also lost their livestock to the floods, impacting their livelihoods. Sita Devi reported that her brinjal and other vegetable crops were ruined.

The rising Ganga water has also disrupted several construction projects, including the four-lane road connecting Bans Ghat to JP Ganga Path and the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur bridge. Dozens of villages in panchayats adjacent to Patna, such as Ganghara, Ratanpura, Patlapur, Kasim Chak, Purani Panapur, Manas, and Akilpur, have been inundated, displacing residents.

In response to the severe situation, the administration has heightened vigilance. Patna DM Kundan Kumar has directed officials from the Water Resources and Disaster Management Departments to remain alert and monitor the situation 24 hours a day. All embankments in Patna district are under continuous surveillance, and 120 relief shelters have been identified. A 24-hour control room (mobile numbers 8235449748 and 06122210118) is operational at the district level, with control rooms also established in all blocks.

According to the Central Water Commission, the Ganga's water level at Gandhi Ghat in Patna is 85 cm above the danger mark, 25 cm above at Digha Ghat, and 60 cm above at Hathidah. The Son River's water level in Maner is 15 cm above the danger mark. The Ganga is also rising rapidly in Munger and Sultanaganj (Bhagalpur). The Gandak River is flowing above the danger mark in several places, and the Darauli River in Siwan was 40 cm above its danger mark.
