A pregnant woman died during treatment at the Phullidumar Community Health Center (CHC) in Banka district on Tuesday evening, leading to widespread protests by her family and villagers. They accused the doctor of negligence in her treatment. The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Teena Devi, wife of Rupesh Das, a resident of Bajartar village under Khesar police station.

According to her family, Teena Devi had a normal delivery at the CHC on Tuesday morning. Her condition was reported stable for some time after the delivery, but gradually deteriorated. The family alleges that despite her critical condition, she was not referred for better treatment in a timely manner. They claim this negligence led to her death around 7:30 PM.

Upon hearing the news, a crowd of family members and villagers gathered at the hospital premises, demanding action against the responsible doctor and healthcare workers. Ajay Kumar Bharti, District President of JD(U)'s Scheduled Caste Cell and District Twenty-Point Committee member, also took serious note of the incident and lodged a complaint with the Civil Surgeon of Banka, demanding action against those found guilty. However, the official cause of the woman's death has not yet been confirmed. The situation is expected to become clear only after an investigation by the health department.
