Phulparas, Madhubani: Employees of Phulparas Nagar Panchayat have commenced an indefinite strike from Thursday, responding to a call by the Bihar Local Bodies Employees Federation and the Bihar State Local Body Employees Mahasangh Joint Struggle Front. The strike involves various categories of staff, including sanitation workers, and is significantly impacting the cleanliness and sanitation services within the town.

The striking employees have outlined a three-point charter of demands. These include the regularization of daily wage workers, ensuring job security, abolishing the contract and outsourcing systems, implementing equal pay for equal work, and the immediate payment of all pending dues. Employees stated that they have been struggling for these demands for a long time without a positive response from the government.

They have declared that the indefinite strike will continue until the government takes a positive decision on their demands, emphasizing that this movement is crucial for protecting their rights and interests. A large number of sanitation workers and other employees, including Pappu Kumar Yadav, Mohammad Alam, Omprakash, Raman Kumar, Kanhaiya Kumar Yadav, Kailash Kumar Paswan, Shilakant Vishwas, Ganesh Kumar Yadav, Suresh Kumar Kamat, Golu Kumar Rawat, Gangesh Mishra, Sakal Kumar, and Balram Kumar, are participating in the strike. This action is expected to severely affect public health and civic amenities in the area.
