The Piro Nagar Parishad in Bhojpur district hosted its second grand Kajri Mahotsav on Tuesday. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Nagar Parishad Chairperson Kiran Upadhyay, SDM Krishna Kumar Upadhyay, SDPO Kanhaiya Kumar, BDO Ashok Kumar, EO Mega, and social worker Manoj Upadhyay. A large number of spectators attended the festival.

The main highlight of the program was international singer and Kajri Queen Sanjoli Pandey, who captivated the audience with her melodious voice and brilliant Kajri performances. Women were seen dancing and applauding enthusiastically until late at night to her tunes. Bhojpuri singer Golu Raja and other artists also energized the youth with their performances, prompting young attendees to dance vigorously and enjoy the event.

Piro Nagar Parishad Chairperson Kiran Upadhyay stated that the Kajri Mahotsav was organized in response to a long-standing demand from women. She mentioned that the festival could not be held in 2024 and 2025 due to personal unfortunate circumstances. The Chairperson emphasized that Piro's Kajri Mahotsav holds a unique identity in Bihar, and its objective is not merely entertainment but also to promote women's empowerment and raise awareness about their rights. She highlighted the large participation of women late into the night as a symbol of their freedom and the changing social environment.

During the festival, discussions were also held about honoring a talented daughter from Piro who achieved second place at the All India level, bringing fame to the region and inspiring other girls. The atmosphere in Piro Nagar Parishad was completely immersed in cultural fervor, with folk songs and Bhojpuri music performances keeping the audience engaged until late at night. Local residents, public representatives, officials, and a large number of women and youth were present at the event.
