Police in Purnia have successfully apprehended a notorious chain snatcher. SDPO Sadar Pushkar Kumar confirmed the arrest, identifying the assailant as Mohammad Mumtaz, a resident of the Madhubani TOP area in the city. According to the police, Mumtaz had recently attempted to snatch a chain from a woman, during which she was pushed and tragically died.

SDPO Pushkar Kumar stated that the police took immediate action following the grave incident. Based on CCTV footage and information from local informants, the perpetrator was identified, and a trap was laid for his arrest. After intensive investigation and raids, Mohammad Mumtaz was apprehended. During interrogation, he confessed to his crime.
