A tragic road accident in Purnia district resulted in the death of a female nutrition coach and left her daughter severely injured. The incident occurred late Wednesday night when a speeding car struck the mother and daughter, dragging the mother for approximately 200 meters. The accident took place on the Purnia-Katihar National Highway, causing a stir in the area.

The deceased woman has been identified as 45-year-old Veena Devi, a resident of Hasanganj in Katihar district, who was a well-known nutrition coach. Her daughter, who was injured in the accident, is currently undergoing treatment and is reported to be in critical condition. Following the incident, a crowd of local residents gathered and informed the police.

According to eyewitnesses, the mother and daughter were crossing the road when they were hit by an uncontrolled, speeding car. The collision was so severe that Veena Devi got trapped in the car, and the driver dragged her for about 200 meters. This resulted in deep injuries, and she died on the spot. Her daughter also sustained serious injuries.

The car driver fled the scene after the accident. Police have taken the body into custody for post-mortem and admitted the injured daughter to a nearby hospital. A case has been registered against the unknown car driver, and efforts are underway to apprehend him. CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify the accused.
