A significant paper leak incident has come to light from a Purnia examination center during the preliminary examination (PT) for Sub-Inspector recruitment. An investigation by the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) has revealed the complete timeline of the cheating through CCTV footage. According to the footage, at 10:05 AM, candidate Rupesh Kumar sent a picture of the question paper outside using his mobile phone. Exactly 59 minutes later, at 11:04 AM, the invigilator handed him a slip with the answer key.

A similar incident occurred in the second shift, where candidate Naresh Kumar also sent the question paper outside to obtain answers. The investigation confirmed that both candidates passed the PT examination, and Rupesh Kumar also cleared the Sub-Inspector main examination (Mains). The EOU's SIT has corroborated the Dainik Bhaskar's October 7 report, which stated that both candidates involved in the viral paper leak had passed the PT.

A case has been registered against Center Superintendent Muzzafar Alam, office assistant Vivek Kumar, both candidates, and three biometric staff members. The investigation also revealed that 36 candidates were seated in a room designated for 24, and a fraudulent seating plan was submitted. The EOU has written to the commission recommending the cancellation of both candidates' candidacies. The case has been filed under BNS and the new Public Examination Act.

The EOU thoroughly investigated the CCTV footage from +2 RPC High School, Purnia City. The first shift exam was from 10 AM to 12 PM, with candidates required to report by 8:30 AM. Despite jammers and frisking, Rupesh Kumar (Roll Number 5141060225) managed to enter the examination hall with a smartphone. He sent the question paper's picture at 10:05 AM, and a solver gang prepared 100 answers within 59 minutes, providing him with the answer key at 11:04 AM. Naresh Kumar also cheated similarly in the second shift. The EOU has interrogated the center superintendent and the invigilator.
