A severe road accident occurred on Friday in the Mufassil police station area of Purnia district. A motorcycle and a cargo tempo collided head-on on the road connecting Srinagar to Bilariya. The impact was so strong that the motorcycle's fuel tank ruptured and caught fire, severely burning the rider.

Eyewitnesses stated that the motorcycle rider lost control, leading to a collision with the oncoming tempo. The collision caused an iron angle from the tempo to pierce the bike, rupturing the fuel tank and igniting a fire. The injured youth has been identified as 30-year-old Sunil Rishi, a resident of Diwanganj Rishidev Tola.

Upon receiving information about the accident, local villagers and the police promptly transported the burnt youth to GMCH Purnia, where his condition is reported to be serious. Mufassil Station House Officer Vivek Kumar stated that the police have seized both vehicles involved in the accident, and an investigation is underway. Further legal action will be taken.
