In Jamalpur, Munger, Rail Police ASP Umeshwar Choudhary conducted an inspection of various stations along the Bhagalpur–Jamalpur–Kiul railway section on Tuesday. This review was undertaken in view of the world-renowned Shravani Mela, with the aim of strengthening security arrangements for devotees (Kanwariyas) and other rail passengers.

During his inspection, ASP Choudhary assessed the preparedness of the railway police force stationed at Jamalpur, Bariarpur, and Sultanganj railway stations. He reviewed security measures at platforms, entry-exit points, ticket counters, waiting areas, and other crowded spots, issuing necessary directives. Addressing police officers and personnel, ASP Umeshwar Choudhary highlighted that a large number of Kanwariyas travel during the Shravani Mela. He warned that anti-social and criminal elements might attempt to become active by disguising themselves as Kanwariyas. He instructed every police personnel to exercise extra vigilance and keep a close watch on suspicious individuals and activities.

Choudhary made it clear that any negligence in security arrangements would not be tolerated. He emphasized that providing safe, smooth, and uninterrupted rail travel to passengers and Kanwariyas is the top priority of the rail police. Orders were given to ensure continuous monitoring, regular patrols, and thorough checking of suspicious persons within station premises and on trains. The ASP also encouraged the on-duty personnel, advising them to work with discipline, promptness, and a spirit of public cooperation to ensure the Shravani Mela concludes in a peaceful and secure environment.
