A special camp was organized in Rajaun block of Banka district on Wednesday, marking Safe Motherhood Day. The camp provided health screenings to a total of 482 pregnant women, offering them essential medical facilities and consultations. The primary objective was to raise awareness among pregnant women about safe delivery and healthy motherhood, while also delivering crucial healthcare services.

Medical Officer Dr. Anil Kumar Singh stated that all pregnant women attending the camp received free medicines. Furthermore, they were given detailed information about precautions to take during pregnancy, nutritional requirements, and the importance of regular check-ups. Dr. Singh emphasized that consistent monitoring and proper nutrition are vital for the health of both mother and child throughout pregnancy. He also encouraged women to avail themselves of government health schemes.

This initiative has provided significant relief to pregnant women in the region, particularly those from remote areas who face challenges in regularly accessing health centers. The screenings conducted at the camp included blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, weight, and other critical parameters to identify any potential risks in a timely manner. Health department officials highlighted that such camps are instrumental in increasing access to health services in rural areas and reducing maternal and infant mortality rates.
