घटना के तुरंत बाद, बस चालक वाहन सहित मौके से फरार हो गया। इस दुखद घटना से आक्रोशित स्थानीय ग्रामीणों ने सासाराम-बक्सर मुख्य मार्ग को जाम कर दिया। ग्रामीणों ने मुआवजे और लापरवाह बस चालक की गिरफ्तारी की मांग करते हुए प्रदर्शन किया। सड़क जाम के कारण मुख्य मार्ग पर वाहनों की लंबी कतारें लग गईं, जिससे यात्रियों को भारी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ा।
सूचना मिलते ही राजपुर थाना की पुलिस टीम मौके पर पहुंची। पुलिस ने ग्रामीणों को समझाने-बुझाने का प्रयास किया और उन्हें शांत करने की कोशिश की। काफी मशक्कत के बाद, पुलिस ने ग्रामीणों को आश्वस्त किया कि दोषियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी और नियमानुसार मुआवजा दिलाने की प्रक्रिया शुरू की जाएगी। इसके बाद, ग्रामीणों ने सड़क जाम हटा दिया।
पुलिस ने मृतक रामेश्वर सिंह के शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए बक्सर सदर अस्पताल भेज दिया है। पुलिस ने अज्ञात बस चालक के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कर लिया है और उसकी तलाश जारी है। इस घटना ने एक बार फिर सड़क सुरक्षा और तेज रफ्तार वाहनों पर नियंत्रण की आवश्यकता को उजागर किया है। स्थानीय लोगों ने प्रशासन से ऐसे हादसों को रोकने के लिए ठोस कदम उठाने की मांग की है।
