A tragic incident has occurred in the Raniganj block of Araria district, where a 24-year-old farmer died due to electrocution while irrigating his field. The incident took place on Friday evening in Dhobania village, Ward No. 12, under Koshkipur Panchayat, Raniganj police station area. The deceased has been identified as Manish Rishidev, 24, son of Dinesh Rishidev, a resident of Dhobania village.

According to information, Manish Rishidev was irrigating his field on Friday evening when he accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire. The electric shock was so severe that Manish was critically burned and died on the spot. Upon receiving news of the incident, panic spread in the village, and a large number of villagers gathered at the scene. The family members are in deep shock and mourning.

Villagers stated that Manish Rishidev was a hardworking farmer and the sole breadwinner for his family. His untimely death has cast a pall of gloom over the entire village. The incident has also raised questions about the negligence of the electricity department in the area. Villagers allege that electric wires passing through fields are loose and dilapidated in many places, posing a constant risk of such accidents. They have demanded that the administration take concrete steps to prevent such incidents.

Upon receiving the information, Raniganj police reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it to Araria Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Police stated that the matter is being investigated, and necessary legal action will be taken.
