Administrative activities have intensified in Banka district concerning the Raxaul-Haldia Greenfield Expressway project. Approximately 75 kilometers of this ambitious 821-kilometer-long expressway will pass through Banka district. For this, land in 58 revenue villages across five blocks of the district will be acquired. To ensure timely completion of the project, the district administration has initiated the process of land verification and document inspection.

According to information from the District Land Acquisition Office, reports for the 3-A notification concerning 29 villages in the Shambhuganj, Amarpur, and Banka blocks have been received in the first phase. Following these reports, officials have begun thorough verification of land records, total area, ownership rights, and other revenue documents in these villages. Officials state that after the completion of document verification, potential objections will be addressed, and the compensation process for affected landowners will proceed as per regulations. The district administration assures that the entire land acquisition process will be conducted transparently to prevent any unnecessary inconvenience to landowners.

Locals believe that this expressway will play a significant role in transforming Banka district. However, farmers whose land will be acquired are demanding fair compensation and a transparent process. Jugnu Rani, Circle Officer of Shambhuganj, stated that the department is working in a time-bound manner on the construction of the Raxaul-Haldia Greenfield Expressway project, and further action will be taken according to directives from senior officials.
