Workers of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Gopalganj staged a protest against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and burned his effigy. The protest march, led by RJD District President Dilip Kumar Singh, traversed various routes of the city before culminating at Maunia Chowk. During the demonstration, party workers chanted slogans against the central government and the Election Commission.

Addressing the gathering at Maunia Chowk, District President Dilip Kumar Singh stated that free and fair elections are the true foundation of democracy. He alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner is undermining democratic institutions and the impartial electoral system at the behest of the central government, demanding his immediate arrest.

RJD leaders highlighted that concerns regarding voter lists and electoral processes had been raised in several states, including Bihar and Bengal. Objections were voiced by political parties as well as from within the commission, but the Chief Election Commissioner allegedly ignored all these objections to benefit the ruling party. Former MLA Rajesh Singh Kushwaha accused Gyanesh Kumar of damaging the impartiality of a constitutional body like the Election Commission of India and called for legal action and his arrest.

RJD Principal General Secretary Imtiaz Ali Bhutto demanded the cancellation of all elections held during Gyanesh Kumar's tenure, stating that fair elections are impossible as long as he remains in office. District Vice President Sunil Kumar Bari emphasized that public trust is paramount in a democracy and demanded the cancellation of assembly elections in Bihar, Bengal, and other states. Many prominent RJD leaders and hundreds of workers participated in the protest, advocating for the restoration of a fair electoral system.
