A young man from Rohtas district was brutally lynched in Bhojpur district on suspicion of buffalo theft. The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Santosh Singh, a resident of Khanethi village under Kargahar police station in Rohtas. The incident occurred near Gajrajganj market within the Gajrajganj police station area.

According to reports, Santosh Singh and an accomplice were allegedly fleeing after stealing a buffalo from near Gajrajganj market when they were caught by villagers. The villagers mercilessly beat Santosh Singh with sticks, leaving him severely injured. His accomplice managed to escape. Upon receiving information, Gajrajganj police reached the spot and took the injured Santosh to Ara Sadar Hospital. After preliminary treatment, doctors referred him to Patna due to his critical condition. Santosh succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Patna.

Police have taken the body into custody for post-mortem examination. In a swift action, the police have detained six people in connection with the incident and are interrogating them. Santosh Singh's family has been informed, and they are demanding justice. The police are continuing their investigation and are searching for the absconding accomplice. This incident has once again raised questions about law and order in the region.
