Rosera police in Samastipur district have successfully cracked a mangalsutra snatching case, arresting two robbers and recovering the stolen mangalsutra along with the motorcycle used in the crime.

The incident occurred on August 14, 2026, around 11 AM, in Bhoonha, under the Rosera police station jurisdiction. Priyanka Kumari (wife of Shravan Thakur) had her approximately 7-gram gold mangalsutra snatched by criminals riding a black Apache motorcycle. Recognizing the gravity of the crime, a special team was formed under the leadership of the Rosera DSP. This team identified the culprits through continuous raids, technical assistance, and human intelligence.

During the raids, police arrested Badal Kumar (son of Vinod Mahto) from Mirzapur and Sanjeev Kumar (son of Golo Paswan) from Lalpur. Both confessed to their involvement in the incident during interrogation. Based on their confessions, the snatched mangalsutra was recovered and seized. Police stated that raids are ongoing to apprehend another absconding accused in this case and to recover items stolen in other incidents.

Station House Officer Lalbabu Kumar informed that the arrested accused have several previous cases registered against them at Rosera police station, including Rosera PS Case Nos. 339/26, 320/26, 233/26, and 306/26. The raiding team included Rosera SHO Lalbabu Kumar, Rosera Additional SHO Subhash Chandra Mandal, PSIs Anish Kumar, Chandan Kumar, SI Neeraj Kumar, PSIs Manisha Bharti, Kriti Kumari, and other police personnel from Rosera PS.
