Sahibganj Nagar Police have achieved a significant breakthrough in a series of bicycle theft incidents that have plagued the city over the past few months. Police arrested a youth from Bihar, identified as Chhotu Kumar Mandal, a resident of Kodha Sharmaspur in Lodipur police station area of Bhagalpur district. Based on his confession, police recovered nine stolen bicycles.

Nagar Police Station In-charge Amit Kumar Gupta stated that after receiving continuous complaints of bicycle thefts, the police were investigating the matter. CCTV footage from various locations was also examined. Recently, the accused, Chhotu Kumar Mandal, entered Habibpur Pipe Road with the intention of committing another theft when villagers apprehended him and informed the police. Police arrived at the scene, took the youth into custody, and brought him to the station for interrogation.

During questioning, Chhotu revealed that he had hidden all the stolen bicycles behind bushes in the North Colony area. Acting on his information, police recovered nine bicycles. Chhotu Kumar Mandal has confessed his involvement in the theft incidents and has since been sent to judicial custody.

Upon receiving information about the recovery of stolen bicycles, BJP leader Amit Kumar Singh and medicine businessman Anoop Kumar Singh arrived at the Nagar Police Station to identify their bicycles. The BJP leader successfully identified his bicycle that was stolen recently. The station in-charge has appealed to all individuals whose bicycles have been stolen to visit the Nagar Police Station to identify their cycles so that after completing the necessary paperwork, they can be returned.
