A shocking double murder has sent ripples of fear through Bharpura Patpara village in the Bibhutipur police station area of Samastipur district. An elderly couple, 70-year-old Bangali Das and his 65-year-old wife Dhanma Devi, were found brutally murdered in their home in Ward No. 11 on Tuesday morning. Their bodies were discovered covered in blood; Bangali Das was found on a cot, while Dhanma Devi's body lay on the floor.

Initial investigations suggest that the couple was attacked with a knife. The news of the gruesome incident caused a stir in the village, prompting the immediate arrival of Bibhutipur police and an FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team. Authorities have begun collecting evidence from the scene and questioning local residents. CCTV footage from the area is also being scrutinized.

According to preliminary information, it is suspected that assailants broke into their home around midnight and attacked the couple. The motive behind the murders remains unclear, with police investigating all possible angles including robbery, old enmity, or other personal reasons.

The double murder has created an atmosphere of terror in Bharpura Patpara village, with villagers expressing shock and confusion over who could have targeted the elderly couple and why. Sanjay Sinha, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Rosera, stated that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. He assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and that the case will be solved soon. The post-mortem report and evidence gathered from the crime scene are expected to shed more light on the exact cause and circumstances of their deaths.
