Farmers in Samastipur district received training in advanced and scientific techniques for makhana (fox nut) cultivation. The program, organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Birouli, saw Samastipur District Magistrate (DM) Yogendra Singh as the chief guest. Addressing the farmers, the DM emphasized the importance of adopting scientific methods alongside traditional farming practices to increase their income and strengthen Bihar's leading role in makhana production.

DM Yogendra Singh stated that makhana is a significant cash crop for Bihar with immense potential. He encouraged farmers to adopt improved seeds, modern agricultural equipment, and new technologies. The DM highlighted that scientific methods not only boost production but also enhance crop quality, leading to better market prices for farmers. He urged the agriculture department and scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra to maintain continuous contact with farmers and keep them informed about new developments.

Scientists at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra provided detailed information on improved makhana varieties, optimal sowing times, balanced use of fertilizers, pest and disease control, and post-harvest management. They answered farmers' questions and demonstrated techniques through practical sessions. Farmers expressed that the training was highly beneficial and committed to implementing these new methods in their farming. This initiative is expected to significantly increase both the production and quality of makhana in Samastipur district, thereby strengthening the economic condition of farmers.
