A laborer died after being hit by a train at Kishanpur railway station in Samastipur district. The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Monu Das, a resident of Shitalpur Dharmpur Khairi village under Khanpur police station. The incident occurred on Friday when Monu Das was traveling from Samastipur to Darbhanga for work.

According to his brother, Dinesh Das, Monu was a mason in Darbhanga and had left home as usual. He fell from a moving train near Kishanpur station and came under its wheels, resulting in his immediate death. This tragic accident has left Monu Das's three children without their father. The family was plunged into grief upon hearing the news.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) team promptly took possession of the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital Samastipur for post-mortem examination. GRP Station House Officer Birbal Kumar stated that the family was informed of the incident and, after completing necessary procedures at the police station, the body was sent for post-mortem.

Monu Das's untimely demise has deeply shocked his family, who now face concerns about the upbringing and future of his children. Monu Das supported his family through manual labor. Police stated that further necessary action would be taken upon receiving a written application from the deceased's family. After the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the relatives. This incident highlights the devastating impact of an untimely death on a family dependent on a laborer's income.
