Two laborers from Samastipur district, Bihar, have died in a tragic road accident in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The deceased have been identified as Amarjeet Paswan (37), son of Ramchandra Paswan, and Dharmendra Paswan (34), son of Bahadur Paswan, both residents of Ward-13, Barhauna Panchayat. Their bodies were brought back to their native village in Samastipur by ambulance on Monday evening.

Amarjeet Paswan's wife, Ragini Devi, shared that on September 12, the day of the incident, Amarjeet had called her before heading to work. He inquired about the family's well-being and the preparations for the Teej festival. He also spoke to his mother, mentioning that he had a heavy workload but promised to return home for the Chhath festival. Tragically, about two hours after this call, the news of his death arrived. Ragini Devi expressed her grief, stating that Amarjeet was the sole breadwinner for his family, and she now worries about their future.

Ramnaresh Paswan, Amarjeet's cousin, explained that over a dozen people from their village work in Gujarat, primarily unloading sacks from ships. On the morning of September 12, Amarjeet and Dharmendra, along with approximately 25 other laborers, were traveling in a pickup truck to a warehouse. Near the Gandhidham Station crematorium, the pickup collided with a tipper truck. Amarjeet and Dharmendra died on the spot, while six other young men from the village sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment in Gujarat. Ramnaresh stated that other laborers working in Gujarat informed them about the accident. The bodies were dispatched from Gujarat by ambulance on the evening of September 12 and arrived today.

Amarjeet's mother, Lukhiya Devi, recounted that her son had called her before going to work, asking about her health and reminding her to take her medicine on time. Amarjeet had promised to come home for Chhath and bring clothes for everyone from Gujarat.
