In a tragic incident in Mohiuddin Nagar, Samastipur district, seven students were swept away by a strong current in the Baya River while bathing and making video reels on Friday evening. One student drowned, while six others were rescued by local residents.

According to reports, several students arrived in Mohiuddin Nagar on three motorcycles around 4 PM on Friday. As the weather changed and rain began, they went to the Baya River near Bhurha Bridge. There, they started bathing and making reels with their mobile phones. Eyewitnesses stated that while making reels, all the students were suddenly caught in the river's swift current and began to be carried away.

Local residents present nearby quickly intervened, successfully rescuing six students. However, one student went missing in the strong current. Upon receiving information about the incident, Mohiuddin Nagar police reached the spot and, with the help of locals, launched a search for the missing student. After extensive efforts, the student's body was recovered from deep water a short distance from the accident site.

The deceased has been identified as Prince Yadav, a 20-year-old son of Bipin Yadav, a resident of Shibu Tola under Bachhwara police station in Begusarai district. The students who were with him informed the police about his identity and the circumstances of the incident. Police have taken the body into custody and initiated legal procedures, sending it for post-mortem.

It is believed that all the students are from Narhogi College in Sarairengan, though police have not officially confirmed this. The police are investigating the entire matter, including the students' college affiliation and their purpose for visiting Mohiuddin Nagar. The family of the deceased has been informed about the incident.
