Serious questions have been raised regarding the functioning of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Samastipur district after two liquor smugglers managed to escape from an RPF post room. The two individuals had been arrested shortly before with 191 bottles of foreign liquor. This incident has brought into question the coordination and security arrangements between the police and RPF.

According to information, Sub-Inspector PK Chaudhary and Constable RK Meena, acting on a tip-off, apprehended the two smugglers from Platform No. 2 of Samastipur station. A total of 191 bottles of foreign liquor were recovered from them, which they intended to smuggle via train. After their arrest, both smugglers were detained in a room at the RPF post, from where they successfully fled.

RPF sources indicate that the identities of the escaped smugglers have not yet been fully disclosed, but it is believed that they might be part of a larger liquor smuggling network. Following the incident, there has been a stir within the RPF department, and senior officials have ordered an investigation due to the gravity of the matter. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the escaped smugglers, but no success has been achieved yet.

This incident also highlights the challenges in implementing the liquor prohibition law in Bihar. While agencies like the police and RPF are continuously taking action against liquor smugglers, such incidents undermine their efforts. Local residents have expressed concern over the incident and demanded that the administration strengthen security arrangements to prevent such occurrences.
