A tragic road accident in Samastipur district's Sarairanjan on Wednesday morning resulted in the death of motorcyclist Bablu Kumar Rai (50), while his brother Sanjay Rai sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred at the intersection of the Sarairanjan-Khajuri main road when a pickup van collided with their motorcycle. The deceased, Bablu Kumar Rai, a resident of Khedarpur in Ghataho police station area, was on his way to his 6 AM shift at Ramjanaki Medical College.

Following the accident, there was a commotion at the scene. Local residents promptly rushed the injured Sanjay Rai to the hospital for treatment. Upon receiving information, Ghataho police arrived at the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The police have initiated necessary action regarding the accident.

Sarairanjan Block Development Officer Sunil Kumar and Circle Officer Nishant Kumar also visited the accident site and met with the victim's family. Officials have begun the process of providing government compensation to the family. In light of the frequent accidents at the intersection, authorities have instructed the concerned RCD to immediately construct speed breakers to prevent future high-speed vehicle collisions. Bablu Kumar Rai is survived by his three daughters and one son.
