Residents of Akhtiyarpur village in Samastipur's Sarairanjan police station area gheraoed the Sarairanjan police station, demanding justice for a rape victim. Prior to the gherao, a candle march was organized, passing through Sarairanjan market and the block headquarters before reaching the police station premises, where a street corner meeting was held. Sanjeev Kumar Inqlabi and Prabhash Kumar Ishwar jointly led the candle march.

Addressing the gathering, speakers stated that eight days had passed since the incident, yet the accused remained at large. They accused the Sarairanjan police of protecting the culprits. Protesters warned that if the accused teacher was not arrested within 48 hours, a 'Nyay Ki Bhikh Yatra' (journey of begging for justice) would be organized from Akhtiyarpur village to Sarairanjan police station, followed by a road blockade. The victim's father also appealed for justice for his daughter.

It is to be noted that Chinki Kumari, daughter of Uttam Rai from Akhtiyarpur village, committed suicide on August 22. Many others, including Satyam Kumar Jha, Pawan Kumar Patel, Saurabh Kumar Jha, Umesh Kumar Jha, and Vikas Kumar, were present at the event.
