A dispute erupted between the police and local residents late Friday night in the Ujiarpur police station area of Samastipur district over the inspection of a truck. The incident, which took place near Tinwathia at Nazirpur Haat, reportedly left ASI Raju Kumar and some other police personnel injured. The police allege that a crowd surrounded ASI Kumar, assaulted him, tore off his name badge from his uniform, and held him captive for some time. Following the incident, the police promptly arrested three youths.

According to the police, a patrol team led by ASI Raju Kumar was heading towards Nazirpur around 9 PM on Friday night. Near Tinwathia at Nazirpur Haat, a suspicious truck was found parked by the roadside. When police personnel attempted to inspect the truck, some youths present at the scene objected. The argument quickly escalated into a scuffle. The police claim that as the dispute grew, the crowd misbehaved with the police team and assaulted ASI Raju Kumar, tearing off his name badge and holding him hostage.

However, local residents have also leveled serious allegations of misbehavior and assault against the police. Villagers claim that the dispute arose during the police action. The police have arrested three youths and initiated interrogations to determine their roles in the incident. The role of the truck and its driver is also under investigation. Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police Vivek Kumar Sharma stated that the matter is being investigated, and further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
