JDU National Executive President Sanjay Jha, attending the Farakka Water Treaty Dialogue program in Katihar, has supported Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary's statement on crime. Jha asserted that the willpower of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the strategy of the NDA government have curbed organized crime in Bihar. He emphasized that the Chief Minister's statement should be viewed in the correct context.

Sanjay Jha recalled a period when organized crime was rampant in Bihar, with kidnapping becoming an industry and people fearing to leave their homes after dark. He credited Nitish Kumar's determination for establishing the rule of law in the state, stating that Samrat Choudhary aimed to highlight this achievement to the public.

Jha claimed that while criminal incidents still occur in Bihar today, offenders are now apprehended and jailed within 24 hours, unlike before when they received political patronage. He termed this the 'Nitish Model' and an accomplishment of the NDA government.

Regarding the Farakka Water Treaty, Sanjay Jha stated it's a crucial issue concerning Bihar's interests. He expressed confidence that with NDA governments at both the center and state, Bihar would receive its rightful share. He assured that the interests of Bihar's farmers and general public would not be ignored in water distribution. Jha noted that Nitish Kumar has consistently fought for Bihar's interests, and the Farakka Water Treaty Dialogue is part of this ongoing effort. The Katihar dialogue was the final stop for JDU's program, attended by Sanjay Jha and state president Umesh Kushwaha, aiming to energize party workers.
